About

Welcome to Cozy Ramble Cottage, a warm and inviting corner of the internet dedicated to all things floral, antique, and aesthetically cottage. I’m Liz, and I’ve always been a collector of anything antique or shabby chic. I love the creative detailing of older furniture and just things in general. To me, most antiques are works of art that should be cherished and admired – not thrown out for something new. That said, I am not a purist – I love unvarnished wood as much as the next person, but I also love color and if you can breathe new life into something that might be tossed out otherwise, then I’m all for it.

I live in a house built in 1905 by the original owners. I was lucky enough to get it – mostly intact with five fireplaces that still have the tiles, and mantles and some even have their summer covers. The original hardwood floors are still intact and a lot of the wavy glass windows are still here. The crowning glory is the three stained glass windows in the front of the house. One with an M – the original family name was McClellan, and a compass which I assume means that they were Freemasons. As I get better with photography, I’ll be featuring some of the treasures from my house – including some of my dearly departed mom’s artwork. She was a hobby painter and her work is perfect for cottagey spaces. Anyway, I hope if you’ve gotten this far, reading my ramblings that you have cottage aspirations like I do and join in the journey. Let’s have some fun while we dream and chat about this enchanting earthy vibe that makes you happy.
